About Nana Chel

Granny School was created out of an idea which Nana Chel wanted to share when watching some of the best grandmas interacting with their grandchildren. She observed those who had really perfected actual skills and knowlege to enhance their relationships and make grandparenting fun and impressionable.  As she learns for herself, she loves to share those ideas with others. Things are always changing and keeping up with the latest information takes not only a desire but time to research and learn. Some of these skills come second nature and some must be learned and practiced. We never have enough time so if we all share our ideas and experiences, it shortens the learning curve.  Nana Che's strongest desires for strong family relationships  are attached to her "WHY" and life purpose. Sharing with others is inclusive of that life purpose.

You will notice the tag line on the logo which states, "Your Second Chance at Motherhood".  I want to keep that in perspective.  This statement is not granting permission to act like the mother with our grandchildren. Simply stated, it is our opportunity to have a second chance at enjoying the journey while instilling through our example (not lectures) the values and traditions we would like our children to embrace. It is our opportunity to love like we wished we'd taken the time to love with our own children and to savor every moment possible.

Nana Chel's Why...

What is your WHY when it comes to what you do on a day-to-day basis?  Whether that is a career or your personal mission statement you have set, you must be passionate about your WHY!!

Michele's  "WHY" has always been her family.  Her only desire when looking to the future was to be a stay-at-home mom. She accomplished that from 1987-1997.  In August of 1997 she became the single provider in her home and from that point forward entered the workforce to provide a living and health benefits for her daughters and herself.

She realizes the many missed opportunities to spend time with her daughters, teach them homemaking and life skills and most of all to enjoy the simple pleasures overlooked with a busy schedule .  Much of her time was spent commuting to and from Salt Lake City, UT and working as a sales/marketing professional inside a 10 x 10 grey cubicle or beating the streets for new business.

Michele soon realized that other moms were feeling the same way.  She vowed that she would be able to retire early and give her grandchildren the time she lost with her daughters.  If so, she could have "a second chance at motherhood".  Now, she is passionate about building a business that will afford her the time and means to be the best Nana she can possible strive to be. She has a desire to share her journey with those who know exactly what she means when she describes her love for her grandchildren as one of the "purest forms of love" known.

Michele is married to Steve Bettridge and together they have six daughters and six grandchildren and live in Riverdale, UT. Follow me by clicking here for my Facebook or my website for more details and fun!
